Barnes, 'The Exiles and Recalls of Arius', Journal of Theological Studies 60 (2009), 109-129, who argues that Arius was summoned to the imperial court in the winter of 327-328, but could only return to Alexandria in 335. Arius was perhaps recalled by a council in 327, but the nature of this council is unknown.
